With over 1,500 residential units for officers and soldiers, Al-Zarqa Military Camp was then among the largest military housing projects. It provides many facilities and services such as clubs, clinics, high schools, elementary schools, separate officer’s and soldier’s club(s), Olympic size swimming pools, a gymnasium and an Olympic standard football field.
The dwelling units were designed under certain socio-economic aspects of local heritage and in full integration to environmental and physical conditions, human scale as will as regional constraints.
Set on a 725,000 m² site, the project was constructed in stages.
