The main objective of design was to improve passenger facilities and services at the airport. and provide adequate space and environment for inbound and outbound passengers and baggage.
The terminal building, designed to create a new image and feel for the interior spaces as well as for the external elevations, also featured contemporary electromechanical systems that were designed and implemented according to international standards.
The project was extended to cover the design of a new cargo terminal, a ‘Royal Falcons Club’ building, a ‘Royal Aero-sports Club’ building all with proper aprons as well as a new parallel taxiway and access roads, a new parking apron for wide body aircrafts and a jet blast screen.
